I had a bit bad of an experience with them. Even though I am currently dating a wonderful girl I met off of their website – the service itself did not impress me at all. I’m glad it draws and gives Christians a place to meet it just felt like a poorly ran business trying to get your money and offer you the least amount possible in return. I was a day late canceling my subscription and there was no grace period of cancelation so I was charged for several more months when I no longer need it. Also several glitches in their site were amazing how bad they were. My text would often read “Hi Jane how’///s it going” What are the /// doing in there?? And pictures! Some that were taken sideways were not auto rotated to be upright – have they not updated their software since the 90’s? Anyway – I can’t say steer clear because there are some great people out there (though less than they advertise) I would just say keep you expectations low 😉

so I made a mistake on my account. It was my own responsibly. The customer service addressed it and help me out even when it was my own omission. Went on one date with a girl in my area. Overall, there are not a lot of profiles in my area this is why I decided to leave.

To browse, I have to put the distance to be 500+ otherwise it returns no profiles. That means I can’t search profiles in my country. Also, it’s unusual that you view hundreds of profiles, even send messages to some & get no activity or response.

The same people that are new show up for months.. Customer service blame it on new interface. This was never resolved. It once was a good site.

I started with Tinder and POF thinking I could find a partner that valued faith, their church and God. Well these apps are not the place for that I quickly found out. I then tried Christian Mingle from a recommendation of a friend. At first I hadn’t told anyone about me trying out online dating but after my first bad experience I mentioned it offhandedly to a few friends at a get together and was surprised others have or are currently trying out online dating. Most of them told me to try Christian Mingle or Christian Cafe.

I choose Christian Mingle next and I am glad I did. As with the other dating sites it is easy to install and create your profile. I uploaded a few pictures and copied my profile description from POF since I had spend over an hour writing it and rewriting it. I started searching and was surprised to find a number of eligible men in my city. They belong to neighboring churches, not the one I go to but that is fine and I was expecting this since I know pretty much everyone at ours.

Of the 20 or so gentlemen I found which I like I went ahead and sent out a message to a few of them. I got a reply right away from one of them and we emailed each other for a few days. I did get a reply from another but I told him I was currently engaged in a conversation with someone else at the moment. Anyways, we spoke on the phone last night for over 2 hours and he seems really nice and out going. We have a lot in common which was one of the reasons why I had mailed him in the first place. We plan on going on a date next week. I am a little nervous but excited at the prospect of dating again.

I will post here again with an update on how things went. It would be funny if the first man I dated from a dating site would be the one. Well I will find out soon enough, wish me luck!
